A LONG JOURNEY...

A few years after I moved to Ireland, I sometimes experienced homesickness !
So in the ballet class studio, to remind me of France, I was playing piano arrangements of  French songs, such as Autumn Leaves, J'ai Deux Amours, My Way etc... and dancers loved it !

HOW This ALL STARTED...

I had never recorded any music for ballet class then, but this is when it all started, and thanks to my beloved grandmother.

My grandmother, Paris, 1996. At the rose garden of the Jardins de Bagatelle.

Our grandmother was wonderful.
She grew up in a small village near the German border.
After World War II, she moved to Paris with my grandfather. She loved Paris !
She shared her love for this beautiful city with all her grandchildren, and with each one of us in a different way, adjusting to our personalities and centres of interest.
I have such fond memories of the places we went to together, gardens, parks, concert halls, museums, monuments, art galleries...
Always followed by a stop at a pâtisserie !
I am so grateful for these lovely moments she gave me as I was growing up. 
After she passed away, I inherited a small sum of money and I thought that with it, I should create something to express our shared memories, and our shared love for Paris and French songs.
And this became "A Journey Through France", my first album... the start of my journey as a recording ballet pianist.
